I am a musicologist and educator whose work explores how music participates in narrative, memory, and cultural meaning. I am completing my Ph.D. in Musicology at Claremont Graduate University, where my dissertation examines representations of memory in John Williams’s harp concerto On Willows and Birches (2009).

My research interests include music and cultural memory, film and media music, musical narrative, and twentieth- and twenty-first-century orchestral music.

As an educator, I teach music history and appreciation, popular music, music theory, and applied guitar, working with music majors and general-education students across university, community-college, and online settings. My teaching emphasizes close listening, musical analysis, historical and cultural interpretation, and active student engagement.

I am also a composer, guitarist, and creative writer, and my work across these areas reflects a broader interest in the ways music and storytelling create meaning.
